The IGS Music Ensemble Program provides students with the opportunity to fulfil their musical potential through quality vocal and instrumental training and the progression through IGS ensembles.
Each new year, the Music Ensembles Program commences Week 3 | Term 1. In the terms that follow (Terms 2-4) rehearsals commence in Week 1.
This program of learning in Music is designed to provide students with the following enrichment experiences.
- performance opportunities at school and in the community
- safe learning environments in which to develop musical skills, be proud of creative accomplishments, socialise and flourish with like-minded musicians
- a structured program which develops skills in listening and performing, covering a wide variety of repertoire including Australian works and songs in varying languages.
- teaching from highly experienced choral and instrumental directors, accompanists and tutors.
